Great things have happened. A new algorithm (method of calculating) the formula for the Mandelbrot set, z → z^2 + c, has been invented which calculates a deep magnification motive from (the border of) the Mandelbrot set about hundred times faster than the so far existing method as used by for example fractal eXtreme. Amongst all he links to SUPERFRACTALTHING MATHS written by K I MARTIN. which is a one and a half page pdf-document describing the theory behind. Sorry I haven't got math behind it yet :blush: But maybe the diligent reader soon may do ;)

This new algoruthm so far is implemented in 2 software, Mandel Machine and Kalles Fraktaler. Mandel machine I have failed to install, but Kalles Fraktaler, that only has to be unzipped, I have tested a little bit now. I've been rather stubborn with using fractal eXtreme for the deep zooms in the Garden of Cauliflowers1-18 series, the last 2 took about 50 hours each to render :faint: But now no more renderings of deep zooms will be performed by ordinary fractals software. I will now start to upload 8 deviations produced by Kalles Fraktaler, Weird Barriers1-8 at two occasions. They took only about one minute to draw at 11400x6412 resolution each :wow: The colorings maybe are not that very nice, but be patient, I'm still learning to handle the color editor of this software ;)

EDIT Copying/pasting coordinates between Kalles Fraktaler and Ultra Fractal, reveals that Kalles Fraktaler has reversed the imaginary axis (c-imag), so that c_imag = y in fact displays c_imag = -y. Due to the symmetry around the imaginary axis of the Mandelbrot set, it only affects the orientation of the motive. The coordinates published by me actually display how they appear in Kalles Fraktaler..

And finally the best zoom video I so far ever watched, produced by :icondinkydauset: using Kalles Fraktaler. The patterns are so intereting, the coloring is so pleasant, and the music, just :wow: Must be seen :omg:

Did almost faint while reading this at fractalforums a while or two ago.

Do you know if this can be implemented in 3d generators too?
By now it takes me to long to render even small res animations.
The new way of calculating could make it possible to render high res. movies in quit a short time.
